Hi my name is Charles Urbina,
I am working on a project where I can use JomSocial.
The main goal of my project is to create a Social Community of businesses such as restaurants in different states and cities in the United States. Each restaurant will have their own User/Restaurant page with the banner of their restaurant's brand where each restaurant will create a profile. And each restaurant will promote their menu and services their friends will join their restaurant groups.

In these restaurants profiles we are going to use a component for the restaurant to create their food menu where the visitors can order food. We have a machine that will be installed in each of the restaurants that will print the orders placed on the shopping cart directly at the restaurant's location and their customers will just go to the restaurant to pickup their order.

I would like to know if you have any one using JomSocial similar as described above. Where users are restaurants or retail stores and not independent persons as other social websites.

Hi Charles,

The only thing i can think of that would work as you describe would be the following
1. Setup Jomsocial so that only admins can create groups.
2. Make each restaurant a group, you then have all the group features and you could customize the group to add in your menu application. .
3. You could use www.extly.com/jomsocial-extensions.html for a searchable business directory that integrates with Jomsocial
4. You could look at www.readybytes.net/payplans.html so you can monetise membership for restaurant owners then allow free access to users.

I understand what you are doing will involve a lot of custom work but this would get you a very good head start as an out of the box setup.

Regarding the whole concept i would be very interested in seeing what you get setup if you do it with Jomsocial. It sounds very interesting

In regards to which plan to pick the Supercharged is great value but if you are not set on using the socialize site template, then maybe just the pro license of Jomsocial. We do have some amazing changes coming with socialize and Jomsocial 4 which has just gone live. you can't get access but you can at least see how it looks and what will be available very soon. beta.jomsocial.com
