I'd love to try jomsocial. Sounds like you wouldn't refund me if it's not what I need, but I don't want to pay $99 just to try it out!

Can I try it before I buy it or not? I don't mean have a look at the demos. I need to work with it to see if I can use it to build the site I want.

If it's of any interest, I'm reviving a once popular but long dead site - 9ballpool.co.uk. I need to see if I can have the usual "sport magazine" features like news and regular content sections (like rules, interviews etc), some custom pages (like clubs/tournaments database) alongside some social network features.

Thanks I'll give that a whirl. Looks like just a web interface though, will I be able to modify the code? I suspect some things I need to do will require me to write add-ons/plugins/whatever.

It doesn't work.

I signed up, it gave me two links, one for site and one for backend.

When I followed the links I got an XML error for one and a "server not found" for the other.

Just give me a download I can play with on my own server?
