Is there a particular web hosting company that JomSocial works best on? I want to start out with shared hosting to see if this goes and switch to a VPS when needed.
Joomla! and JomSocial will work with any standard hosting provider. My suggestion is to hire a hosting with CPanel because it's really easy to use. In this case, a basic plan will be fine. I suggest you to consider hostmonster, hostforweb, hostgator, site5, etc. RochenHost is very good too. For my personal projects I use a VPS plan on KnownHost. It's perfect for me. Maybe you can take a look at this provider.
