Will I be able to use my domain name without any redirects. I have Joomla installed on a Godaddy Account, will that work. On the demo I could not browse my computer for video like I could with photos, is this a change I can make on the back end. Also if I wanted to make another category, (photo, video, events) is this possible to do on the back end.
Jomsocial installs into Joomla so your existing web site will then have Jomsocial on it. The domain name points to your site not to Jomsocial.
Video uploads are disabled on our demo site. You need to be aware that to use the video upload feature you will need to have FFMPEG installed on the server. or you would need to use a 3rd party service called Zencoder. Your shared host may tell you that it is installed but in most situations the version is so old it will not work with Jomsocial. This is a server issue and not a Jomsocial issue. Your hosting company need to confirm that they have the current FFMPEG version installed or video uploads will not work, FYI most shared hosts have 0.8 installed and the current version is 2.X
Categories can be created as you wish, there is no limit to how many you can create
