Is it possible to add an PDF-Upload function without granting the user access to the webspace (same as the photo-upload)? Or is it possible to configure the photo-tool to upload and manage PDF files, too?
In Jomsocial groups you can create a discussion and upload files into it, but you need to be a member of the site and group for this to happen
Is it possible to prevent users from seeing each others user-profile and photo gallery as long as they´re not friends? If "yes", can we put this settings on default, that even after creating a new account these options are already active?
If a user isn't friends then it won't let other users interact, but it sounds like if the user is not friends you don't want them to see of find the other user at all. This is not possible.
s it possible to give specific User-Groups or Users higher permissions, so they are able to see other user`s profiles?
Jomsocial doesn't Use Joomla ACL this is something we are adding in Jomsocoal 3.4 which is a long way off still
And at last a strange question: Can "Friendships" be disabled for all users by default, so the whole community can be built on "groups"? (I'm not sure if this function would really be needed, but it could be nice to know) ;-)
No, this would be a very large customisation, friends is core to the entire system
