I'd like to know if there's an ability to more or less use JomSocial as business directory of sorts? Somewhat like Angie's list

Jomsocial is not really a directory component, it's more like facebook. There is a great component called Mosets tree we use it for our ad ons directory www.jomsocial.com/addons maybe have a look at that
