I have a client who wants to use Jomsocial to do the following.

Sign up multpile organizations who will each get their own social community. Users belonging to one of these communities would have no connection to any other community. The user creating a new community would need full admin control of their own instance of Jomsocial and need to be able to run the community.

Can Jomsocial do this natively? Is there a way to create closed communities that still have all the functionality and can there be multiple communities on one domain? I noticed that it has a Groups function, but this didn't seem to be what we'd need to do what we want.

I'm not aware of anything that would be possible with Jomsocial. What you describe is like an automated cloud deployment but you need to consider support and licensing on that one

Would it be possible to install Jomsocial into many subdirectories or sub-folders on the same domain so that each of them would function at a unique address? I'm not really familiar with Joomla at this point. I know with wordpress you can install it into a folder under the domain and it will function as a standalone instance. Can you do that with this tool as well, so that xyzdomain.com/community1 is a completely separate installation and website from xyzdomain.com/community2, where each of them has full functionality and no cross over betweeen them?
