Community for Education Center.

We must create a community that allows us communication between different teachers in a academy, and to allow management, “issues” and “activities” of the center.
We need to know what features can we do with JomSocial directly, and which features would require some extension (which extensions?).
Basic functionalities:

1. 1. Creating different types of profiles: “Administrator”, "teacher", "activity" and "subject."
2. 2. Creating users with a particular profile. example:

• a. A "teacher" can create a user/profile with type "activity", directly from “teacher” page.
• b. A "teacher" can create a user/profile with type "theme", directly from “teacher” page.

1. 3. The profiles of the type "activity" and "subject" may be viewed by all users with "teacher" type (if “teacher” is registered).
2. 4. If a "teacher" publishes information related to a "theme" or "activity" in his profile page (Activity Stream), this information will be posted on profile page (Activity Stream) "theme" or "activity" automatically.
3. 5. If a "teacher" refers to "theme" or "activity" profiles, a link will be created automatically. This link will go directly to appropriate profile ("theme" or "activity").
4. 6. “Teacher” users will see on his profile page (Activity Stream): comments written by themselves or by another "teacher" (if this one is a "friend").

• a. The management of "friends", "groups", ... will only be manageable by a profile "Administrator" of the community.

=> Yes this is possible

2. Creating users with a particular profile. example:

b. A "teacher" can create a user/profile with type "theme", directly from “teacher” page.
=> this is possible, we have plugin like this, but if you still not fit with that plugin you can hack the lilbit code

3. The profiles of the type "activity" and "subject" may be viewed by all users with "teacher" type (if “teacher” is registered).
=> this is possible to, I suggest you create group for this one

=> For profile is not possible, but for home page is possible.. this request actually can be done with group, so the user will get the notifciation when the teacher post the information

=> I dont really get this, please ellaborate more

If a teacher makes a publication, and in the publication mentions a "theme" or "activity", at the mention should create a link to go directly to the profile mentioned ("theme" or "activity").

Is possible to add "activity" and "subject" to some group automatically?
or... Can you add a profile with determinate group automatilly?
Example. You create a "activity" profile, named "ActivityTravel44", and it's going to be added in "Travel" group...

Can you hide profile group and forbide to write there (in group profile page or group activity stream)?

About point 4.
"profile": Information related with profile: name, addres, pictures, birthday...
"home page": Activity stream. Page were we can see all information related with "profile" activity.

Sorry, I think didnt read this carefeully, actually this only can be done in admin section, teacher cant create the profile type actually... this is related with Joomla jobs, maybe you should play with ACL and some helps from extension JSPT component... this is quite hard because only administrator can do this.

3. this is impossible, except you hack the code.

4. Yes you right, also in profile page user can see his/her own activities

We have purchased a professional license, and have the following questions.

About 1:
What are ACL and JSPT components? Could you send us information or links about them?
In case a registered profile (ex: library) is interested about to create or modify a book…
Is necessary to close library sesion/profile and open book sesión/profile for make these actions?

Could we insert a specific profile with specific groups with this module?

We are trying to show this link automatically but it doesn’t apper.
Example. There is a profile named “profile1”. I write, for example: “profile1 is very nice book, I like very much…”. We think that “profile1” should convert with a link to this profile, automatically, but it doesn’t happen.

How can we remove link management from profiles? We want that friend activities are only modified from Adminstrator site.

#2 I think yes, you can join the group automatically, but forther infomration please you ask to JomSocial Auto Group developer, since this is not our official plugin

#4 yes this is possible you should use the "tagging" feature, when you want to post a new status type "@" first and the profile suggestion will show

#7 the index.html should be inside that folder, I am not sure why you dont have it maybe you delete it?

Regarding #5 and #6, this is not easy to be achived, you should hire the 3rd party developer for that.
