Hi,
may I know which template and which author do you mean? please provide me the screenshoot.
thank you
Hi,
Yes that is ok, but if you have any issue from that template we cant help you.
thank you
Yes that is ok like I said before.. if you changed the socialize template name with your brand, we cant help you in the future.. :)
Hi Chatdk,
The socialize template is a product from Ijoomla (the company you are dealing with here) our licences agreement is available here and i would recommend you read it
www.jomsocial.com/license-agreement
So sum up the license agreement and confirm what Dimas has told you, changing the folder name is ok but removing or rebranding references to the author in stylyesheets,or javascript files is in breach of our license agreement and would void your support with us.
If you are wanting to change the name of the socialize folder to something else as per your screenshot then that folder itself is opensource, if you are going to edit / modify or remove our brand from the files inside that folder to conceal the fact that the product is ours then this is contrary to the licence agreement.
The modifications to folder names and or files that are open source would need to be made by yourself as our support policy does not cover re-branding our product to yours or removing our brand. Any faults that occur should you choose to proceed would not be covered by our support policy
I hope this clears things up for you
Hi Chatidk,
Here is an article from gavick pro that explains the process and implications of renaming the folder. Please be aware that this is going to cause issues each time you want to upgrade the template. Even though it refers to a gavick pro template it is the same process for all templates
