Our currently site is using V 3.1.0.4. The latest version, released on 14th July, is 3.2.1
So, on our version, we cant enter the url from a website such that it fetches a picture from the chosen url to be put in the newsfeeds.
We want to make sure that our site has the latest features such that if anyone puts a url, that the image is shown on the newsfeeds and the same for the youtube video link that is given
What is required for the upgrade and how long should it take?
URL fetching is a feature in 3.2.1, if you dont have any hacks or modifications to jomsocial and you install the ijoomla installer in the package an upgrade would take 1 -2 minutes, There are other factors like what else is installed on your site and always make sure you have a working backup before making any changes to your site
