Hey guys,
I like how configurable Jomsocial is and I also like the amount of options that you guys have in the admin panel.

The main thing I am interested in is NOT using data mining. If I were to use Jomsocial, I want to protect my users which to me means no data mining, no tracking by google in addition to no facebook "plug ins" or twitter buttons.

Would I be able to achieve this with Jomsocial? This is not negotiable. I want all of my users to feel safe and also know that while they are logged in to the social media site, they are not being monitored in any way.

I would appreciate a real information filled answer to this and not just a link to the "faq" section of Jomsocial.

Thanks,
AE

P.S. I see on the pricing page that $99 is the starter plan. Does this mean I pay $99 once or, is this an annual support cost?

Hi ascending energy,

I'm not sure i understand your question correctly jomsocial as a company doesn't do data mining back to our customers sites. if you are referring to internally in your site then of course as the site administrator you can see what your site members are doing and use or manipulate that information yourself.

Standard licence is for $99 is for a 6 month period, you cannot download or get support without an active licence,

Please let me know if i have missed the point you are making about data mining

What I am talking about Paul when I say data mining is apps like google analytics and adsense being used on the web site which google uses to "track" users "habits" when browsing the web. I have attached a screenshot so you can see what I am talking about..

I hope this clears things up.

Hi ascending energy,

The answer to this is yes the meta data would be crawled by search engines, you would need to somehow block that from happening but that is not something we can do in our product
