Just some quick pre-sales questions as I can't seem to get them off the site.
1) Can I create groups inside of jomsocial that are only available to those people in that group? And can members belong to multiple groups (with just one registration?)
2) Can those groups have separate admins?
3) is it possible to email out people to join those groups (either existing members, or potential new ones)
4) I see Jomsocial works with publishing platforms too, if a member post something the admin thinks should be published on the publishing side, is it easy to do< or does it have to be cut and pasted and moved to a new page?
5) does Jomsocial offer support to upgrade as new joomla versions become available?

thanks

Hi jonathan,

Thanks for your inquiry,

1) Can I create groups inside of jomsocial that are only available to those people in that group? And can members belong to multiple groups (with just one registration?)

Yes you can. You create a new group then make it private. members can join the group and need to be aproved by the groups admin. Once in the group what happens in a private group can only been seen by a member of that group

2) Can those groups have separate admins?

Yes. In each group you can click on the all members list and make any person an admin of the group the group can have many admins if you like it doesn't just have to be one.

3) is it possible to email out people to join those groups (either existing members, or potential new ones)

Yes on the groups cover you can select invite members and invite anyone to the group

4) I see Jomsocial works with publishing platforms too, if a member post something the admin thinks should be published on the publishing side, is it easy to do< or does it have to be cut and pasted and moved to a new page?

Sharing is possible within the site, sharing out to other social networks is not an option yet directly from the wall

5) does Jomsocial offer support to upgrade as new joomla versions become available?

Yes as long as you have an active licence then you can always access support and downloads. For more information on subscriptions please visit www.jomsocial.com/pricing .

If you need further help please reply and i will be happy to help you

I meant sharing into the site (that is if the site also used a publishing platform, i.e. publisher pro that you guys sell)

and on Publisher Pro I got the email re buying it and jomsocial, but A) the buy link didn't work B) it said Publisher pro and Jomsocial, but I didn't see anything on the actual page that said you got both. I did message in on that but haven't heard back.
and last question (I think) does jomsocial allow people to use their facebook to sign in?
thanks again

Hi Jonathan,

Depending on the platform for publishing (i'm referring to publisher)you would need to cut and paste what is on the existing document and put it into a new document. There isn't any ability to re allocate the document to another author. I hope that makes sense and answers your question if not maybe let me know a step by step scenario.

Sharing on the site with publisher is possible in the following ways

My Articles - This app shows all the articles by this user, right on the profile page
My Media - This app shows all the media by this user, right on the profile page
Stream Plugin - Shows a status when author's articles and media are approved.

Yes you can use facebook sign in with jomsocial it's called facebook connect, we also integrate with Sourcecoust's facebook plugin as well www.sourcecoast.com/jfbconnect/docs/thir...ration-for-jomsocial

let me know if you have any further questions
