We are creating a social media platform using Joomla

Now, on the RIGHT HAND side the page,there will be features such as "People you may Know", "New Members", or "Groups you may like"

And, in the middle section of the page will be the newsfeeds

1. My question is, will the system not allow the RIGHT HAND SIDE to be fixed and that the middle section of the page scrolls down, rather than the whole page scrolling down? So the right hand side stays fixed and the centre of the page where the newsfeeds are giving, they scroll down (Just like facebook) ?



2. Secondly, we have the Country and City drop down. Can it not be the case, when someone selects a Country, lets say UK, and then when entering their City, they put the first few letters in, eg GLA... and then a list of all the relevant cities with "GLA"are given and then the user can select the correct city accordingly to the Country in which he resides?



Please advise on the above?

Questions 1
You would need to use a joomla template that allows you to float modules or have a developer customize how those modules are displaying in Jomsocial, currently all items on the page scroll with the page
