I'm upgrading a Joomla 1.5 web site for a customer and he wants to integrate more social features into the site than he currently has. He's briefly inspected JomSocial but is unclear on whether JomSocial will integrate well with the other Joomla extensions he runs (specifically Kunena Forums, the Comments sections of his blogs) and an off-Joomla program called Mememaker (which I've integrated into the joomla database) which I've put into an iFrame. He wants JomSocial to be able to read posts in the Kunena forums, and replies to blog posts, and have JomSocial link to those.

Also, does JomSocial have its own member database or does it use Joomla's user table? Reason being, he doesn't want to make a user login multiple times to use all the features of his site.

Jomsocial sits on top of of the Joomla user tables so if you are a Joomla user then you are a Jomsocial user. We have group plugins for kunena and also profile plugins but at the moment they are being brought up to date with the latest version of Jomsocial. This may take a few weeks before they are available though. As for the Mememaker app that would need to be a custom thing as we don't integrate with that
