I am looking for a social learning platform where hundreds of people can upload 5-minute teaching videos (taken with their iphone/android). The entire community can then rank and search for the "best" videos. Feedback can be provided to each person to "improve" and upload new versions of their videos. People could learn from the top ranked 5-10 videos.

There would be around 5-10 such "teaching" projects active at any one time. Over time, we would expect several hundred of these projects to be available on-line.

Any thoughts if this might be possible with JomSocial ?

Uploading videos from mobile is possible in Jomsocial & you may be able to use the likes feature to then show the most liked ones on your site in a module.
