I am about to purchase my first JomSocial-package, have few questions before that. (..I know that these are pretty easy questions and answers are probably here somewhere, but I have three children and no time - so forgive me!)
So we are going to use JomSocial in address that doesn't exist yet. (meaning the domain) I guess there is no problems installing the package to a demo address this point?
Also is there any limits to files you can add in to the conversations? Is the file hierarchy similar to Facebook? Meaning you can click a separate tab that is showing files for example?

this is possible, you also can use our dev site for installing jomsocial, and the upload to main site if you think the demo/dev site is working fine

Do you mean regarding sharing files? we have it but the flow is not like Facebook, but we have similiar sharing files in group like Facebook do. And for opening the file you need download the file it first, you can't open in new tab for this one.. oh ya we also have file limit setting, which you can configure it in Jomsocial backend.
Okay, that dev/demo site of yours sounds interesting.. Is it possible for you to configure it up? That way it would be easier to show to our customer group (small working community of kindergarten teachers) how it is working..
The price is not an issue, but maybe it would be nice to show that they are not buying a pig in a bag.
..And they want this community to be closed. They were thinking of using Facebook (closed group) where they could have conversation between teachers and they could share attachments (pdf,word,xls) and so on in the conversations, but were too afraid of using FB.
Meaning they are not so familiar with it and there would be high risk of sharing some private education material to all FB users.
