We intend to use Jomsocial on our local intranet and have no need for access from the internet. How can we download the product for use just within our LAN without getting an internet domain name assigned?
Just assign ANY domain.
Please, be aware if you intend to use JomSocial on your localhost we'll be unable to reach it... and debug it if any issues occurs.
- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.
- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you
Thanks for the response; we went ahead and registered a domain as required so we are up and running already - but now I have a new problem. I can't access the joomla backend since installing jomSocial!
Do I need to start a new thread for this issue?
We are running joomla 3.2.3 and I downloaded and installed JomSocial today 3/28. Since installation, when I try to access the admin site, I login OK but I get a pure white screen. How can I resolve this?
