In groups, if you a member on any, you can post videos and photos. Also in Announcements and discussion you can add photo using WYSIWYG editor.
Yes, JomSocial has private messaging system. It's a general system not limited only to groups.

- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
