I want to know if JomSocial can do the following 2 things?
1. I want to make a Realtor social media website but I want to filter (with navigation buttons across my page) by realtor, builder, financial etc. Is this a possibility? If so where do I get instructions on how to do this?
2. I want the user to select there top friends on there page. Right now it just shows random friends. Is this a possibility? If so where do I get instructions on how to do this?
1. You can do that in few ways. For sure Multiprofile feature will be very helpful: you create different types of profiles for realtor, builder etc. All of them could have different watermark on avatar to distinguish them. If profile types will have a at least one unique field, then you could create a list wit e.g all builders. Also groups could be helpful.
2. I'm not sure how you imagine "select there top friends on there page". Now user mark other users as friends. There is no option to mark friends as a "featured" or rate them. Its upon user how he/she will choose his/her friends.
JomSocial is an Open Source, which that nearly everything could be achieved, sometime in easy way, sometime in hard way and with help of developer :)
- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
