Can I customize the way search result is displayed for instance the chosen fields of a user profiles are displayed in rows for example
Avatar-First Name-Last Name- Address-Email-Education- Link to profile -On/OFF line
and also an horizontal alphabetical Last name selection bar for example
A-B-C-D so on. Is this possible in core JS or does it need third party customization ?

To achive this you need hack the code, and cant be done with 3rd party plugins. I suggest you hire the 3rd party dev to achive this.
