We are currently running JomSocial Version: 2.2.4 on a Joomla instance version 1.5.23. I would like to upgrade all the software to the latest stable releases. I am happy to pay for support, but noticed on the support matrix it mentions you only support Joomla version 2.5 and above.
Can you please advise if you can assist me with upgrading of these older versions if I purchase a support agreement? We use Cloudaccess for Joomla hosting and support.
- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.
- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you
So my question was really related to if you can offer support in the upgrade process from older releases.
I have now purchased a support agreement, and I am trying to follow doc
documentation.jomsocial.com/wiki/Updatin...d_JomSocial_Versions
to upgrade initially from version 2.2.4 to 2.2.5. The instructions in this doc advise to uninstall/install the new version, but does not mention exactly how to do it. If I just try to use the extension manager it shows "Error! Could not find an XML setup file in the package". It appears the zip needs to be extracted and then installed, but I have no idea where to find the instructions. The readme in the downloaded ZIP redirects to pages that are not found.
Can you please advise what instructions I follow to now upgrade using the downloaded software as it is not at all clear.
Before I reply I passed your inquiry to our supervisor.
So my first reply is valid.
You need to hire a developer to help you.
