This can be achieved by using custom profile fields. Those fields could be searchable so users with certain value in field e.g. "Designer" could be listed as a search query. Search query creates a link e.g yoursite.org/friends-2/search/field.html?FIELD_CITY=Designers so you can use this link every where that fits you.

Yes, every user has it own album linked to profile. Albums (or photos... or videos) could be private, visible only for site members or friends only. JomSocial not allow to upload other files than photos or videos... but don't worry. Remember that JomSocial works on great framework as it is Joomla! And JomSocial users are also users of Joomla! So in JED you could find few extensions (paid or free) that will extend your community features.

Translations are contributed by community. You create language file by your own (just translate content of en-GB.com_community.ini) or join community on Transifex.com . Also, always you can use Joomla! language override feature.

There are both. Users gain "karma" for activities but also you can integrate Alpha User Points with JomSocial... and then further extend it e.g combining with Virtuemart (users gain points for shopping or spent points on shopping).
