In the most current version of JomSocial, Is it possible to use the URL field type in JomSocial custom profiles and allow members to include a link to their Google+ profile that includes the "+"? eg plus.google.com/+greghyer .

This does not seem possible in JomSocial 2.6.2. Before I renew, I need to know if this is related to Joomla or JomSocial and what characters are permitted in the URL field type.

You need hack this, open this components/com_community/controllers/profile.php and remove this code :

$alias = JFilterOutput::stringURLSafe(urlencode($alias));
