A number of months ago I posted in the community (Suggestions for Staff) about adjusting the max number of photo (8) uploads for a single post. I understand there are technical reasons why this can't happen right now and isn't a simple fix...

Is this on your radar to extend? It's breaking peoples flow having to post twice to 2 'separate' posts to get all their images online and then other people liking only one post and not the other etc...

There are only so many hours in the day to work on bits and pieces and I understand this... I see this are being an important 'required' update as it's truly limiting.

Would you ever poll users to see what future improvements are most important to your users?

Posting photos on stream suppose to be a quick add.
You're free to add more photos by uploading them at Photos. They will appear on stream as well.
Please, don't tell me that your users are too lazy to browse to Photos and upload there :D

You have missed the point and suggesting people are lazy due to poor usability has angered me tbh.

Yes, users can jump on and upload as many images as they like to their own 'Photos' section and yes they will show in the feed...

The important part (the usability part) is that when people perform an initial upload they add a top level comment and all images are shown beneath in 'one single post' on the feed rather than multiple. This is also complicates things when other users are scrolling through the feed and liking/comment on bits and pieces... They have multiple places to comment rather than just a single post. Confusing?

Users complaining about this suggests the issue is real.

If I'm wrong or we should be doing a different way then I'm all too happy to be corrected as I want it to work right!

Okay, lets say that i decided to post 20 - 30 photos at once on the stream.
And 10 other users had the same idea nearly in the same time.
How your stream looks like?

I didn't suggested that anyone is lazy :) I just suggested that people like shortcuts and do not realize the consequences.

If all 20-30 images were all uploaded at once in one post (single top level comment) then this would be great. Multiple people doing exactly the exact same thing is great! The stream would be even more active potentially streaming a few pages with image heavy posts, people would need to 'and do' scroll to read and like the new content... Perfect :)

In a few cases people have tried uploading 8+ images but were only able to upload 8 (as we know) they then create another second post with the remainder images, they see there are 2 posts (as to developers makes perfect sense) and delete the first post, then there is confusion where there didn't need to be in the first place. The people using the system are 'not' computer experts so it needs to be easy.

JomSocial is a brilliant system which everyone loves but this is an area which is often discussed, People have changed their uploading behavior posting less images, directly because of this limitation which is a shame. I'd like them to start uploading as many images as they want on one subject.

I can't say I feel convinced... :) but users are saying - we're listening.
I agree that users prefer to do everything on stream...
I'll pass this as a feature request... Project manager will have final word.

When considering changing or not with PM, if you take away the argument 'It's already built like that' why would you limit to 8 images only when posting.

Do you not want your product to be flexible and to some degree let the people who populate upload as much as they want easily?

Yes, I presented your request that way: display only 8 with link for more but to be able to upload as much you want.
After a reconsideration I see point in this ;)
