Welcome the Technical Support section. Help us in assisting you by providing us with a concise and descriptive elaboration of your issues. Be specific and if possible, provide us with a step-by-step instruction in replicating your problem.
When I uploaded a video direct through S3 bucket amazon it seems that is better quality than when uploading it through jomsocial. Could you please advice for the reason behind.
Thank you for contacting us.
Quality depends of FFMPEG and compression/conversion level it uses.
JomSocial doesn't convert videos - your server FFMPG library does.
You may set "Quantizer scale" in Backend -> Components -> JomSocial ->Videos -> Video settings:
prntscr.com/flhldw
If that doesn't help, please, try to configure your FFMPEG directly.
- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

Hi Michał,
the first tip did not change any thing. regarding the second. is that to install FFMPEG first on my server to be able to configure it? what about zencoder that i use together with s3 amazon, has anything to do with the video quality. Can I use FFMPEG on my server together with s3 instead of zencoder?
If you use Zencoder that it sets video quality.
Please, check your Zencoder configuration or contact their support for better video quality.
