Hello

As you could see in your own post, this is not a JomSocial specific issue, as Kunena forum had a "problem" to display proper colors as well.
Actually it is not a Kunena or JomSocial or any Joomla component problem for that matter.

You have simply used the image with esoteric ProPhoto RGB color space and GD2 image processor have the problems to keep the same color quality during resize. If you want to keep using images with this color space, you also need an advanced image processor installed on your server. The Imagemagick will do just fine.

Alternatively, use some of the commonly used color spaces that 99,99% of users do or convert your "ProPhoto RGB" images to common RGB color spaces, like the image bellow

- Don't say feature not working. Instead, explain what you tried and what was the outcome.
- When you think you found the bug, try to replicate it on a fresh Joomla.
- When looking for support always provide temporary Super Administrative access to your site. We will ask for it anyway.
- Help yourself and read documentation which can give you answers to almost all questions you may have
