I mentioned this bug some time ago. But it doesn't seem to have been fixed yet. The process to reveal this is simple:

1) Create an album and add photos
2) Assign an image to be the cover of an album.
3) Delete any image within that same album, and the cover will no longer be assigned to it. It will randomly choose it's own.

This for both Jomsocial 4.1 and previous version.

Hi, Arthur.

Thank you for reporting this.
This is a valid bug and I'll report it to our developers.

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you

Hi, Arthur.

Please, do a safe copy of those files:

components/com_community/events/photos.trigger.php
components/com_community/tables/photo.php

Then upload content of package to main Joomla! folder on your server.

This was fixed but might have caused another issue with my images not rotating. Not for sure yet, but soon as I did this fix and did a test, my images didn't rotate. Ill make a separate post and link this one in the message.
