ISSUE SUMMARY:

I have disabled Social Sharing in the Jomsocial backend configuration.
However, on photos and albums the sharing option still shows.
How do we disable sharing and the download links across the entire site?

1. You should modify jomsocial configuration->Site->Social Bookmarking change to No
2. You should modify Photos->Photos Setting->Delete Original Photos change to Yes

Um....no.
Already got those set that way as per the original post.
The problem is that the share buttons don't go away no matter how you set the social booking setting.
I have removed them by overriding the applicable jomsocial template file and hacking the bundle.js, but this isnt a great solution.

1 . open this file components/com_community/controllers/photos.php, add this code after line 1192 :
