Welcome the Technical Support section. Help us in assisting you by providing us with a concise and descriptive elaboration of your issues. Be specific and if possible, provide us with a step-by-step instruction in replicating your problem.
I have closed my website for non-members. This due to the privacy of my members. However... although i have set the security of the photos : only for site members... the photo page is still visable if you have the link of the page. Yes... you can not go into a photo album... but the photo album cover is still visable. And i really can not afford that for my website.
Hmmm...this is tricky as this page doesn't have own menu item ID... so privacy settings set for certain pages will not work.
To solve this we need a bit different approach... as we don't want core files to hack.
I may implement a small hack to your template. It will check if user is logged in. If not - template will load additional css file that will hide content of this page. But be aware that content will be just hidden. If someone view code, will be able to see photo album covers url... but will not be able to access album and view content.
What you say - are you interested?
- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.
- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you
Your suggestion is better than none.. Maybe i could suggest it to the at the voice when i have a vote back? My creative mind just made it that i have all my votes so i can not suggest anything now anymore.. lol
This is rather your site specific feature request... but may be useful for many other communities thought. The point here is that album content are protected, only covers are displayed (covers may be set manually for each album... but most users are not aware of that or just don't want to bother). Also this page don't have menu item ID so no menu item privacy settings will take place. A fast solution then will be just to hite content of this page with some css.
What I did was to add in template index.php small code that will check if user is logged in and if not, then load additional css file that hide certain content.
