Welcome the Technical Support section. Help us in assisting you by providing us with a concise and descriptive elaboration of your issues. Be specific and if possible, provide us with a step-by-step instruction in replicating your problem.
ISSUE SUMMARY: The ability to add comments to photos within JomSocial is limited to the album owner. I would like all registered users to be able to comment on any photo. I am sure this is probably a problem with my privacy settings but I cannot find any configuration item within JomSocial to allow comments to be added. I have tried privacy parameters for photos and groups but continue to have the problem.
STEPS TO REPLICATE:
1. in front end - go to Community/Photos and select an album
2. Display photo
3. Side panel does not include comment box.

RESULT: See attach 1 (not album owner)
EXPECTED RESULT: See attach 2 (album owner)

Backend -> Components -> JomSocial -> Configuration -> Site -> Walls -> Only Friends can Comment on Photos -> NO
Probably now you have set that only friends could comment on photos.
- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.
- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you
Yes, this is fine.
There could be other case - e.g when photo is uploaded into a group and user that views it is not a group member.

Ah,
if photos are in a group then do you have to join the group in order to comment on it?
Or is it configurable to allow non-group members to comment?
If photo was uploaded within a group - user mus join group in order to comment.
There is no other way... and this can't be changed.
