Hello,

is it possible to "import" flv-files which are already uploaded at my server?

There are several GB uploaded and it would be very nice to use it directly from the server folder.

Thanks a lot.

HI, Kai.

No, the only way is to upload them in JomSocial. There is no import tool at the moment.

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you

Hello Michal,

thanks for your answer.

So I'm sitting with 12,3 GB flv-files at my server and can't use it with JomSocial?

I've got a 1 MBit upload-line - there must be a solution - I can't upload all the stuff again. Today I'm 42 years old - don't want to be a grandfather when it will be ready.

Do you know any plugin/component or something else what can help me? It would be very great.

Best Regards,

Kai

Hi, Kai.

JomSocial doesn't have such a feature... files could be loaded only from external source (e.c personal computer) as it was designed to allow community members/users to upload their files. In most cases users don't have access to site server so they upload from external source.

There are two options:

1. You'll hire a developer who will write uploader for you: it will need to use flv files, create relations in database and move them to proper folder in JomSocial structure. www.jomsocial.com/jomsocial-developers

2. You'll use HDWMediaShare that is able to import server files (as it was meant as media share center) and do integration with JomSocial: hwdmediashare.co.uk/learn/docs/48-addons...omsocial-integration
