ISSUE SUMMARY:

If a video is saved in Amazon S3, the link on the thumbnail points to a video file as though it was were saved as part of the site, not remotely. If viewed from the video list menu item though, the correct source is used.

STEPS TO REPLICATE:
1 Post a video that's hosted on S3
2 Click on thumbnail, video player starts but nothing happens
3 View sourcecode for page, SRC link for video will not be S3 storage, but as though video were normal website hosted.

RESULT
video will not play when launched from activity stream

EXPECTED RESULT
correct link needs to be used so video plays

BROWSER
chrome

HI, Matt.

Where I could see that issue on your site?

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you

Click the thumbnail in the activity stream, video player starts but the video will never play as it thinks the file is on the local server.
Go to latest videos and click the thumbnail, new page opens with full size video and it plays.

this is how to fix the issue

1. open this file components/com_community/templates/jomsocial/layouts/stream/base-extended.php
2. add this code :

if($video->type ==='file'){
                       $storage    = CStorage::getStorage($video->storage);
                        $path = $storage->getURI($video->path);
                    } else {
                        $path = $video->path;
                   }
after
if ( isset($video) ) {
3. find this code :
data-path="<?php echo ( $video->type === 'file' ? JURI::root(true) . '/' : '' ) . $video->path ?>">
replace to :
data-path="<?php echo $path ?>">

I hope it will help :)

This fixes the issue when the video is first posted, but exactly the same thing happens if someone then latter comments on a video.
