JomSocial Expired Socialize Expired

Hi, I searched the forum around on this topic and I could not find a decent solution, in all posts it seems you are going back and forth with suggestions - I hope this will be different for all the future clients who will have this question, which is quite important.

On the sidebar modules, the 'Members' one to be more specific, I have made the images larger using CSS, (as I could not find another solution), but the image quality is quite low - how to make the images resize to a certain width and height?

Of course, once we have this solution we can implement it on all other modules - for the groups, etc..

I believe in the near future you will include this feature in the back end - to select image sizes, as it is on many extensions, as it is a simple but very useful tool.

Thank you

I need to see that module.
I don't want to write about possible solution before I login to your site.

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you

Hi, Marija.

Those avatars are blurred because they are oversized. Their physical size is 64px - you oversized them to 112px. So their quality is lost as they are stretched.

You'll need to change physical size of avatars.

Edit this file: ROOT/components/com_community/defines.community.php

In line 33 you have:

define('COMMUNITY_SMALL_AVATAR_WIDTH', 64);

Change 64 to 112.

Now you'll need to upload avatars again to recreate them.

(WARNING! Core file hack! Please, make safe copy of edited file. It means also that this file will be overwritten during upgrade, so please make a safe copy of customized file as well.)

This solution was tested so it should work 100%.

Ah... I was aware of that hack but did not want to use it for two reasons: the upgrade thing, and the fact that all avatars must be re-uploaded, was hoping of a better solution.

Oh well, it would be a great addition in further versions!

have a great day!
