Welcome the Technical Support section. Help us in assisting you by providing us with a concise and descriptive elaboration of your issues. Be specific and if possible, provide us with a step-by-step instruction in replicating your problem.
It seems JS automatically creates an album for users who upload an avatar. Fair enough, but this album appears to be empty although it is featured within "All Photos"
Is there any way of changing this behaviour or deleting empty albums?
Are you sure that's avatar album? JomSocial creates album for covers... and this album could be seen only by owner and super user. no other user in community can see it.
- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.
- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you
Maybe you are right. Sometimes I see an empty album called "Profile's Cover"
I know for a fact that I have also seen empty albums for users who have only uploaded avatars. They are called "username's photos" or something similar. Clicking on the username shows a profile with 0 photos but an album is still created. Maybe only super admins and the user can see the empty album but I stille find it annoying and I don't understand the need for an album when only an avatar is created?
Can it be that a user has tried to upload a cover phote but has chosen to cancel anyway thus leaving an empty album behind?
No, all cover related photos are stored in "Profile's Cover". It's rather probably that user uploaded photo on stream but then deleted it. "username's photos" albums are created when no album name is specified - in most cases when photo was posted on stream. User can delete spare albums.
