Welcome the Technical Support section. Help us in assisting you by providing us with a concise and descriptive elaboration of your issues. Be specific and if possible, provide us with a step-by-step instruction in replicating your problem.
Imageareaselect library that we use for re-sizing avatars is not really compatible with all devices. It is made in 2008 when Jomsocial was introduced and is never changed since then. At that time, web was not really "mobile". This will change in 3.3
- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.
- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you
but in the meantime what can I do? because if someone is accessing the web through mobile web is certainly very uncomfortable, especially when they change their avatar. I wish there was a temporary solution to this problem. By the way, when js3.3 will be published?
thanks
I'm sorry but you'll have to wait till 3.3 will be released. When it will be released? Probably within a month...

Disabling it will require core files to hack... this may cause other issues as well.
And you'll have to restore hack every time you upgrade or you'll be stuck with old and unsupported version...
I suggest to wait a bit... 3.3 is near. Just take a look in our Community.
