Changing system's images upload folder(From image/X to image/community/X)

JomSocial Expired

Jomsocial creates and uses the following directories for the uploaded images:

/images/cover
/images/avatar
/images/photos/
/images/originalphotos
/images/groupphotos
Not sure about folder of uploaded files

I would like to know how all these could be changed to let say:

/images/community/cover
/images/community/avatar
/images/community/photos/
/images/community/originalphotos
/images/community/groupphotos

Or even to move them out of image directory. Keep in mind most editors give easy access to image/ directory, which makes the photos view-able to anyone with upload access (yes, there are way to limit people, but why can't we place the jomsocial's stuff elsewhere) and keep the image folder less crowded?

I do not use amazon 3S, so what is the best method? Are there specific part of code that I could modify?

In general, it would be great to keep all files generated by jomsocial in one place with option for picking the location.

Thank you

Hi, Digita.

You can change only folder for video in JomSocial Video Settings.

All other storage places can't be changed. We use that folder as in most cases it has read/write rights less conservative than the rest of file system (some administrators restrict access to other folders).

Only thing I can advise you here is to use JCE editor and change storage folder for images that are uploaded during article creation.

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you
