im trying to add .MP4 and Need to figure where you type in and what to type
Hi, Leon.
I just uploaded mp4 file and it's in pending videos now.
There is no issue with uploading mp4.
You must be aware that you could upload files up to 4MB as thi is set in your php configuration.
The only issue I noticed is that videos are not converted.
Then, please make sure that;
1. FFMPEG is installed on your server (ask hosting provider for assistance)
2. If is installed if you have correct path to FFMPEG library in Video settings
3. If you configured cron properly... or try to run it manually (Backend -> Components -> JomSocial -> monitor -> Mail Queue -> Execute cron (button top right))
also when i run the cron from the backend this is what i get
Could not convert videoNo temporary videos to delete. No files to transfer. No Videos to transfer. No avatars or cover of users needed to be transferredNo avatars or cover of groups needed to be transferredRemoved Pending Invitation for Past Event
i have set the cron up exactly how the video shows and i am also using Dreamhost with a vps
here is a screen of the cron set up
using dreamhost with a vps is there anything else i need to do
Hi, Leon.
Please, describe steps you take when try to upload a video.
Cron job only runs automated functions. Conversion is done using a FFMPEG library, that's why I said:

ok so i checked and the ffmpeg is installed
the path is correct
and when i manual run the cron it runs but it does say that "Could not convert videoNo temporary videos to delete. No files to transfer. No Videos to transfer. No avatars or cover of users needed to be transferredNo avatars or cover of groups needed to be transferredRemoved Pending Invitation for Past Event"
also wonce i hit the upload button it thinks about itand then the popup windo goes away but when i check the pending videos there are none
any ideas?
Hello Leon,
Configuring FFMPEG on a server is not an easy task and also comes with some restrictions depending on your hosting environment.
Here are a few points to answer first then read and follow the instructions in the PDF in this link.
www.jomsocial.com/forum/photos-videos/15...on-centos-6x-servers
The first question is are you on a shared host? > if yes, what is the version of FFMPEG they are using? > if it is 0.8 >1.1 then it will not work. This version is one of the first ever released and it is so out of date there is no point trying.
The problem then is i am not aware of any shared host that will upgrade it because it has a major implication to all users on that server (maybe hundreds of them)
If you are on a dedicated server then please follow the steps in the document and report back the results. If the FFMPEG version is 1.2 and your sever is Ubuntu then we can look into what the issue is. if it is > 2.0 and your server is Centos then we can look into what the issue is.
Something to note here is FFMEP is server side and totally out of our control because it is a server application and we do not support customer servers. But in saying that i am happy to assist you with how it should be setup and what versions are needed
ok so i have some information
I am using Jomsocial ver 3.2.1.3
i am using Joomla ver 3.3.3 Stable [ Ember ]
server is using Debian Squeeze version 6.0.8.
Thanks for contacting us. The path to the ImageMagick is the following:

this is the info that i recieved about my VPS frome the support team at dreamhost.
Hi Leon,
The problem is this
> ffmpeg -version
> ffmpeg version 0.7, Copyright (c) 2000-2011 the Libav developers
FFMPEG 0.7 is such an old version that it will not work. I have had FFMPEG 1.2 on ubuntu work fine but below that it just wont work. the current version is 2.3.3 so you can see how far it has gone.
Once FFMPEG is updated make sure they enable --enable-libx264 (it currently is)
