I have set

Group Photo Upload limit - set to zero
Group Video upload limit - set to zero
Enable group photos - no
Enable group videos - no

But if I go into a group and choose 'Options' I can choose 'Upload photo'. Then I can successfully Upload a photo. However, When I choose' View Album' it goes to my profile page and the image is showing on my Wall. The photo is not showing in the group (at least that is correct!).

Questions

1) If we disable photos for Groups then why does Upload Photo even appear in the Options Menu - this is confusing as it is not allowed?
2) If we disable photos for Groups then why can the user successfully upload photos here (even if the photos don't display in the Group?) Because the user is confused and thinks they have uploaded photos to the Group when they haven't!
3) iIf someone is posting a photo to a private group (e.g. when they ARE allowed to upload photos to a Group!) why does the photo show on their Wall for other people to see? They think they have posted a photo to a private group!

4) Also, some users are reporting that when they try to upload profile pictures they can't - even when they try from more than one computer.

Please look on our test site

Thank you!

HI\i,

We upgraded to the latest version, and it is an improvement - the user now can't upload a photo. However, it is not functioning as I would expect it to:

- in the Group's Options Menu 'Create Album' and 'Upload Photos' still appear - why?
- if you choose Upload Photo it allows you to choose a photo, and start the upload, but at the 100% time it says you aren't allowed. This is confusing for the user, who doesnt understand what has happened and thinks there is a problem, not that they aren't allowed photos
- if you choose 'Create Album' you are allowed to create an album - this album shows on your profile, but if you try to access it is says that this is prohibited.
- Why can someone create an album in the private group, and then it is on their profile (even if access is denied). Firstly this wastes time for the user, who doesn't know why they can create an album and not access it. Secondly, surely if they were allowed to create an album in a private group then it is a group album - so why would it be on their profile?

The best thing would be if Create Album and Upload Photo did not appear in the Group's Options Menu if Photos are disabled. Otherwise the user is confused.

Thanks!

Hi, On our dev site we have upgraded and this still occuring:

- in the Group's Options Menu 'Create Album' and 'Upload Photos' still appear even though we have not Enabled Photo Gallery.

- if you choose Upload Photo it allows you to choose a photo, and start the upload, but at the 100% time it says you aren't allowed. This is confusing for the user, who doesn't understand what has happened and thinks there is a problem, not that they aren't allowed photos

The best thing would be if Create Album and Upload Photo did not appear in the Group's Options Menu if Photos are disabled. Otherwise the user is confused.

Hi Albertus,

I have given you the htaccess login and password.

I don't have the FTP access detail, I would have to get that from our hosting. So please can you have a look without that first.

Thanks

Hi Susan,

The problem because the 3rd party template not up to date. please find groups.viewgroup.php at /templates/gk_msocial/html/com_community or at /components/com_community/templates/gk_msocial replace that file with /components/com_community/templates/default/groups.viewgroup.php

dont forget to backup first, before replace it.

Albert
