I just switched to a shared server that offers ffmpeg and flvtool but the videos are not converting or showing thumbnails.
www.mysite.com/index.php?option=com_community&task=cron&lang=en shows me

According to the Cirtex hosting forum the ffmpeg path is /usr/local/bin/ffmpeg.
As far as I can tell all paths are set correctly in jomsocial configuration. I am unable to figure out where the conversion is failing.
I have jomsocial 3.1.1 and cant upgrade further because my other extensions are not yet compatible with newer jomsocial versions.

Please help. Everything about jomsocial has worked flawless for me but I am stumpped by the video conversion not working.

Hard for us it you are using old Jomsocial version, because most of the FFMPEG issue already fixed in newest version.

Just an info, the support for old Jomsocial version is very limited www.jomsocial.com/support-policy

I have upgraded to 3.2 now even though that eliminates a few of my other extensions. still the same problem though. could you please look into it?

While I am debugging this I get this response :

I am in contact with my host. in the meentime I realized. that the cron url
www.mysite.com/index.php?option=com_community&task=cron&lang=en
is now giving me:

XML Parsing Error: syntax error
Location: www.mesite.com/index.php?option=com_community&task=cron&lang=en
Line Number 1, Column 1:Array
^

I have not changing anything on the site. is it possible one of you did while debugging?

Fixed. My host had the wrong path posted on their website.
the correct path is /usr/bin/ffmpeg and not /usr/local/bin/ffmpeg.

also i updated to newest jomsocial and the cron runns correctly now.

Ah glad to know that, I see the video already converted well.

That "XML Parsing Error: syntax error" is coming from my debug code... I will disabled it right now ;)
