Hello

I wanted to know if there is a way I could change members/users avatars from the backend? For example if members do not have an avatar, can I upload avatars for them from the back-end as super user?

I am running on Jomsocial version 3.1.0.1.

Please advise?

Hi, John.

First upgrade JomSocila to current version -> 3.1.0.4. Upgrade contains important security fix.

No, you can't do it from backend (there you could only remove existing avatar).

But in frontend... well this extensions may interest you :)

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

I see. In that case - am I right in thinking you cannot do it from the front-end either?

Hi, John.

No, you can't. Only users can upload avatars for their profiles.
You can't do that for them.

Will this be fixed in 3.2 release?

Hi, John.

There is nothing to fix :) It is designed to work that way.
But if you think that this should be improved, then please tall us about it here: uservoice.jomsocial.com/forums/101561-feature-request

Hi, John.

There is a way to change members avatar. You need to have administrator rights and be logged in to frontend. Then go to profile and click "Options" at right under cover image. First option on the list will be "Change Avatar" :) So you could upload new avatar for that user.

Thanks. I also worked out on front-end that by having admin privileges, when you search people and view their profiles, you can hover over their current avatar. It will say 'change avatar'.
