I have got ffmpeg & flvtool2 setup on my server. In my configurations video settings in jomsocial I have put a "Custom Command" of:

-s hd720 -vcodec libx264 -preset slow -crf 24 -acodec aac -ab 96k -ar 44100

That command will convert the video to a mp4 instead of a flv as the flv is really bad quality.

When I upload the video it will upload fine and it will convert the video to a mp4. It just won't update some of the metadata and the thumbnails until I physically go and click the fetch thumbnail button when viewing the video.

Im not sure what is wrong but if anyone can help that would be awesome!

If it is possible to keep the mp4 conversion command that would be awesome as I like it converting to a mp4 instead of flv.

Have you updated your Jomsocial to the latest version 3.1.0.1? in that version we already changed the convert result to .mp4

The converting thumbs and video is working fine, but we still have an issue when play video.. that issue usually depend by original video extension or OS server.. can you check with your own video and run the cron job thedanceworld.com/index.php?option=com_community&task=cron ?

Just disable the video extension that I added and it upload the video fine and thumbs but it is only playing the sound. Any help?

May I know what is your server OS? centos or ubuntu? because we found another similiar issue in some server.

Just checking back to see if there is a fix in the video error.

We are still inspecting this, this is very problematic issue, caused by FFMPEG for CentOS.. if we use FFMPEG for ubuntu server, this is working fine.
