JomSocial Active Socialize Active

Hi,
Please excuse me for asking a very basic question about showing streams, or the concept of streams, but I have looked in alls sorts of docu and I have looked in your demo frontend and backend, but without understanding.
On my site I have acivated module JS Activity Stream and temporarily given it a module position. This, along with a couple of other modules positioned to the right of it, show up when a user is not logged in. So far so good and almost the way I want it. I do have an issue with the module positions though, but more about that further down the text. When a user does log in, the display changes and a stream is shown below the JomSocial toolbar, but it must have different module positions, not the ones I assigned to JS Activity Stream. If I unpublish JS Activity Stream, this stream below the JomSocial toolbar is still shown. Where does this stream come from and how can I control it's module positions? Does it have anything to do with the module positions in the attached screen shot, which I also do not understan? Can I somehow assign these module positions to my own modules?
And now further to the moudule positions before a user is logged in. I want to use sidebar-1 and sidebar-2 for different modules with about 1/4 of the total width each and the stream with 1/2 the total width in the middle. I have tried, but to no avail. If possible, I would also like to make sidebar-1 and sidebar-2 sticky to stay at the top when scrolling down the stream.
And one more thing. It is perhaps possible that I do not need the JomSocial toolbar, but I am not yet sure. Can I somehow deactivate it (I do not want to delete it as it would then be lost) in order to see how my site works without it?
Again, I am sorry for asking you such basic questions, but I have really tried hard to figure it all out before writing to you.
Best regards,
Gunnar
PS. If there is a docu that explains all this, please to not hesitate in just showing me the link to it.

hi Gunnar,

- Would you mind to PM me backend and FTP access, please? I need to check the module configuration issue, I afraid this issue caused by some html code are broken

- To hide jomsocial toolbar you can use this css trick :

.joms-toolbar--desktop {
    display: none;
}

thank you

I will PM you the credentials immediatley.

In which file should the hide toolbar no-show go? There are dozens and dozens of css-files. Or can I just choose one of them below the JS template folder?

Hi Gunnar,

- I am trying to undertsand your issue on stream module.. actaully when you logged and you can see the stream below sharebox, that is not a module but our core act stream and not-configure able from module and can't be deleted / change the position as well..do have you anything queries regarding this ? ehhe
- I already applied the code inside socialize configuration->custom code , and now the toolbar already gone.. you can remove the code if you want so the toolbar will be back :)

thank you

Thanks for putting the source code in the right place. I can now turn it off and on and choose how I want it to be. As far as the stream goes, I now unterstand it better knowing that it is a non-changeable core element. I do still have some things that are indeed confusing regarding the module positions and will explain that better in below post which I will write in a couple of minutes.

Hi,
I have rewritten this post three times already. I have spent 12 hrs experimenting with streams and groups and am beginning to understand some of how it works. I am just medium intelligent and it takes some time :-) but when it is ready, it is goooooood. Please close this thread, but don't relax too much. I will have more questions. . .
Thanks,
Gunnar
