Top members custom days, all time and user count not working

ISSUE SUMMARY:

The Custom Days field does not work. Whether I put in 500 days, 7 days, 1000 days or 50 days the same points and users show. Same if I use the lifetime option.

In addition I am seeing that the counts are wrong, user Gorsebank has 36 points in top members but I notice their badge on their profile is wrong for 36 points (should be a diff badge for this level of points) and then I check the back end and they only have 20 points (badge is right for 20 points but top members module is over reporting incorrectly). This happens consistently with all members in top members module.

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

Hi,

top members module not using user points as ranking, but using own statistic data. separately with user points.
but if you want using user points as top members, I cant providing "old" top members module for you.

This doesn't make any sense. Few pieces of feedback

1) the setting in the module states "number of user points" which contradicts what you just said? More this is frustrating as it has mismanaged my expectation as a customer.

2) the users it has chosen as top members Arent quite what've would have expected. So could you please give me the logic and explain the algorithm it is choosing?

3) are there plans to adapt this module to something that does reflect "actual" user points as it is useless to me in its current state? I would propose having an option which uses your algorithm (with a clear description in the module) and then a seperate option that is user points only.

4) your answer doesn't cover why changing custom days to all time or any other numeric value shows the same users each time. I sense it chooses the last 7 days regardless of setting choice. This feels like a fundamental bug. You may want to review.

5) you mentioned an older version that does what I am asking for. Yes could I please get that.

Hi,

for jomsocial 4.x top members data, jomsocial collecting it from community_profile_stats
that table stored statistic data based on user activities, like, post, etc. by using statistic jomsocial can only retrieving top users based on period.

if you want using top members based on user points, you can using this module:

download and install it from joomla extensions manager. after that, goto joomla modules manager > New, select JS top members point. setup that new module to your site.

user point only stored at community_users. and cannot retrieving top member based on period.

please try the module first.
