ISSUE SUMMARY:
My customer is having an issue where a user tries to log in from the portal access page, when they use the JomSocial login they are asked to login again when trying to access files. If they log in from the Joomla login page and go to the file to access it, they don't have a problem.

Hi, Nicole.

What do you mean by "access files"?
I used URL you provided in Miscellaneous field, logged in... and I didn't saw any issue.
I was logged in correctly.
Do I need to try download a file from the site?

Please, describe step by step how can I replicate this issue.

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

Try this link and see if you can download the file when logging in from the Department Group page. Then try it when logging in from the Joomla login on the top menu.

HI, NIcole.

When I try to access this URL (being NOT logged in) I get: i.imgur.com/8qElelF.png
This seems to be correct as this is CLOSED group.
But I don't see any file to download... (after I log in).

Hi, Nicole.

Logged in... and: i.imgur.com/y5gholy.png
I still don't understand whet file you mean?
Do you mean that there is no option to upload/share files?

In order to share files in Announcements you need to enable that in Group settings.
I just did that and: i.imgur.com/Cjbfi2h.png

Or you mean that file sharing was enabled but files are gone?

Step 1, log in to the groups department through this link.

ci.marshall.mn.us/main/index.php/home/department-groups

Then go to this link

ci.marshall.mn.us/main/index.php/home/de...da-packet?groupid=37

Then click on the link in the image. It will ask you to log into Joomla then.

Hi, Nicole.

It won't work... as you posted link to... Joomla! backend:

http://xxx/main/administrator/index.php?option=com_docman&view=file&routed=1&name=2016_03_16%20EDA%20Agenda%20Packet.pdf&container=docman-files

Posting link to backend will always result with administrator login screen.
You probably posted wrong URL.
Yous should use frontend docman links.
