I'm not 100% sure if I've posted in the right section for this.

I'm currently designing our site, which has JomSocial as our community. We use Helix 3 as a base template, as we can customise the layout to suit our needs without to much coding being done. One of the features we have with this template, is the ability to integrate background images into the page directly. However I've noted an issue with the Theme Designer for JomSocial and that's not the ability to use a transparent background for the JomSocial Main Background.

Is there a way I can rectify this, so that we can use transparency as well.

You can't change background to transparent with Theme Designer.
The only way to do that is to add css code to your current template main css file:

.jomsocial-wrapper .jomsocial {
background: transparent !important;
}
