Hi, Christian.
To be honest? None of them :)
From time to time users report issues when using 3rd party SEF extensions.
You may search our forum and you'll find many such a reports.
Also they are paid.
I'll better stay with good, old Joomla! native SEF :)
It's fair enough ;)
But you may also post this question in our Community and ask other members for their opinion.
Hi,
thanks for the quick reply! if I dont use those, how would I be able to change for example
xxxx.com/633-guest/profile
to something like
xxxx.com/profile/633-james
or
xxxx.com/633-james
Thank you
Hi, Christian.
Well, you won't be able to change it like in examples.
But still you may change your profile URL a little bit:
i.prntscr.com/a1597c5ddf104cd4aed8d3d485bc6aaa.png
Consider, if you want to pay for URL change and may expect issuesThere is no huge difference xxxx.com/profile/633-james and xxxx.com/633-james/profile.
But it's up to you ;)
Hi Michael,
the thing is right, I want to change the css styling of the menu itemid of "profile". That will only work if users are directed to
xxxx.com/profile/633-james, it wont work if its xxxx.com/633-james/profile, which is what Jomsocial is doing right now.
Hi, Christian.
So you want to change profile URL only to style menu item?
You can't style JomSocial Toolber menu item (toolbar displayed on JS pages) as Joomla styling fields are ignored.
This could by done by using styling for :nth-child(n) - you just point li you want to style.
If you create (in different menu e.g your site main menu) menu item alias that points to profile, you should be able to use Joomla! menu item css styling.
I guess you don't need SEF for that...
HI Michael,
wow never know that! I just removed the "profile" on the JS toolbar menu, then created another menu with the name "profile" from the main menu of joomla and link it to profile, working brilliantly now
thanks :)
