I found some customization files at your site:
/libraries/joomla/cache/storage/cachelite1.php

by default joomla not having that file. that will make global configuration page broken. please upgrade your jomsocial to 4.1.1

I have deleted that file and refreshed the cache(s) and the error still comes up when zero members found.

I also get this same error when I go to JomSocial Invite Friends menu button.

1. Login using the login credentials
2. Go to profile page
3. Goto---- MyFriends----InVite Friends

after deep debugging, I found a bug. here the fix:
edit /components/com_community/models/search.php after this code at line 507

$query	= $this->_buildCustomQuery($filter, $join , $avatarOnly, $profileType );

if (!$query) return false;
