Welcome the Technical Support section. Help us in assisting you by providing us with a concise and descriptive elaboration of your issues. Be specific and if possible, provide us with a step-by-step instruction in replicating your problem.
ISSUE SUMMARY: If I turn the "show frontpage image" to "no", it still shows up. However the "avatar shape" does change the avatar shape as soon as I change it.
Also, we noticed that despite changes to the text "Get Connected" within the language file - en-GB.com.com_community.ini that we make, the language doesn't change.
This seems like a cache issue but we have cleared our cache and made sure that automatic caching is not enabled. Can you help us trouble shoot these changes? We have upgraded to the latest JomSocial 4.1
- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.
- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you
Whoops - spoke too soon.
Can you check again? I now changed the second line of text to:
COM_COMMUNITY_HERO_PARAGRAPH="Come and join our community of eye care providers involved in humanitarian work around the world!"
however, despite clearing my cache, the changes won't show up. I cleared the cache within chrome and also tried ctrl F5 several times but the text stays the same. This is a bit strange why it worked one time and then not the next.
even opening a totally new browser (IE) that I hadn't used before still gives me the original text - almost like the file wasn't changed.
Also made changes to the first line again just to check and this isn't changing. Also added the frontend picture back and it is not showing up. A bit confused yet.
I guess I just need to be patient. it must be a time related cache issue as now it is changing. I just can't see changes I make immediately. So that is confusing.
