We are installing our Jomsocial now and want to know if there is a way to restrict curse words from being posted on jomsocial. Does Jomesocial have this feature already installed or is it something that I would have to install? We simply do not want people to curse, use foul language in our site.;.

Jomsoical has filter words plugin, you can activate it from plugin manager, but I am not sure it will work with 3rd party like jomclassifieds, ou should contact jomclassifieds developer directly.

I turned the filter on but it is not working. I can still type curse words into social area and they appear. What should I do?

Have you contacted jomclassifieds developer? they should integrated the filter with our filter plugin

I meant Jomsocialize. We entered curse words and enabled the plugin feature for js wordfilter but cursing still shows on stream. What do I need to do to get this to work properly?

Also, we did contact jomclassifieds and they said they could do a word filter but we could never update jomclassifieds as it would delete it. They could use your plugin and it would be good with any updates for jomclassifieds?

ah I see, you are using old jomsocial version, please you update to the latest stable version 4.0.9, or you can try the version 4.1RC, that RC version is quite stable..

Like I said, you should contact them, they should change their API to post jomclassifieds stream, because the filter will be executed on that code.
