JomSocial Expired Socialize Expired

Hi,
We changed our design and now on some sites are showing some modules which should not be there.
If you are logged in and go to the menü-point "Profil" > " Profil Details ändern" you will see it. You can compare it with "Profil" > "Profil ändern". So you will see the difference. It´s not only on this site, also if you open a profil from anotherone there are the module on the left site.
We want to show the modul "my profile " & "all member" only on the frontpage.
Regards,
Dominik

Hi, Dominik.

That's very common mistake. You assigned a module to frontpage which is your default (start) page. JomSocial pages even if are in JomSocial toolbar menu and should have own menu item ID (in a fact you assign modules to a menu item IDs) they don't. They inherit menu item ID from a JomSocial related menu item (item with lowest ID) outside JomSocial Toolbar.

That's why modules assigned to frontpage appears on other JS pages.

Also that's why we implemented built-in modules positions:

documentation.jomsocial.com/wiki/Built-in_Module_Positions

Another option to prevent unwanted behavior will be to use this extension: extensions.joomla.org/extension/advanced-module-manager Using this extension you'll be able to display modules only on certain URLs.

- Instead of saying: 'it's not working', explain the problem in detail.
- Screenshots with the URL visible in them and the problem marked are more than welcome.
- Tell us how to replicate the problem, we can't fix it if we can't find it.
- Make sure that your site/server meets JomSocial System Requirements
- Make sure to setup JomSocial Cron Job
- Always provide us with access details to the backend and ftp. We need it to debug problems.
- If you have a similar problem, but a solution you found isn't working, open a new thread instead of 'merging' with an existing one.

- Use the "Thank You" feature on any post that helped you
